Many people may not know Steve Tavaglione by name but they surely have heard his work. Steve Tavaglione is one of the top EWI (Electronic Wind Intrument) player in the world as well as a first call sax and woodwind player.
Steve "Tav" Tavaglione has performed and designed sound on numerous major movie soundtracks, composed and performed on numerous television and multimedia projects, and performed live with the greatest musical artists of our time.
Steve is a renowned, leading proponent of the EWI- an electronic version of a woodwind instrument that is highly versatile. He is one of the top experts on the instrument and his superlative sound design from his enormous self-created sound design library has him as a first call studio musician and one of the most popular musicians for top run movie scores.
Tavaglione's EWI and compositions have been heard on countless soundtracks. The list is staggering.
His sound designs and EWI performances can be heard with composers and artists as diverse as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Alan Holdsworth, Randy Newman, Roger Waters, Walter Becker, and Joni Mitchell, as well as international superstars Sergio Mendes, Luis Miguel, Ivan Lins, and film composers Mark Isham, Thomas Newman, and Jay Gruska.
Tavaglione's inspiring solos can be heard in dozens of blockbuster films, including Ocean's 11 & 12, Finding Nemo, American Beauty, and A Bug's Life. His special talents on the Akai EWI are featured in the Disney hit, WALL-E and many many others.
His programming and sound design skills are also well known. Steve has a special ability to create just the right sound, and just the right notes. Steve creates unique soundscapes and plays EXACTLY what is needed for each project he works on.
