The MidiJet Pro USB Wireless MIDI system is an incredible piece of gear. The engineers at Classic MidiWorks have done a superb job of creating a reliable, small, and inexpensive wireless MIDI system. The MidiJet Pro USB cost far less and performs far better than systems that cost upwards of $3000 just a few years ago. Now wind controller players with battery powered controllers such as the Akai EWI4000s, Akai EWI5000, Yamaha WX5, WX7/BT7, MDT, WX11/BT7, MIDI EVI, NuEVI, NuRAD, Synthophone, and Casio DH-100 / DH-200 / DH-500 / DH-800 are free to roam the stage no longer tied down by MIDI cables! Strap-on MIDI keyboardists using portable remote keyboards such as the Roland AX-Synth, AX-1, AX-7, or Yamaha KX5 can now be free of tangles and constricting MIDI cables. Electronic drum players using the Zendrum and MIDI accordionists are now free to roam out into the crowd. The MidiJet Pro can also be used with various MIDI control surfaces and player pianos with MIDI capability such as Yamaha's Disklavier and others with the PianoDisc system. Another great application for the MidiJet Pro is to link a front-of-house (FOH) MIDI sound or lighting desk to on-stage equipment. Imagine the freedom of being wireless.
Probably the ultimate test for any wireless MIDI system is a MIDI wind controller since these controllers generate huge amounts of MIDI continuous controller data. We are very happy to report that the MidiJet Pro easily handles the intense requirements of a MIDI wind controller. Classic MidiWorks developed the MidiJet Pro USB in collaboration with professional wind controller players. They listened to our needs. Leading wind controller players such as Michael Brecker, Patchman Music's Matt Traum, and Sam Zambito have made the MidiJet Pro USB their top choice and use it on a daily basis in professional situations. Legendary EWI player / saxman Michael Brecker used this system on his "Directions In Music" world tour with Herbie Hancock and Roy Hargrove interfaced to his prototype Steiner MIDI EWI. Herbie Hancock bought one from us as well as did Michael Jackson's producer/composer Teddy Riley and a host of other top professionals!

MidiJet Pro USB Features
Why Choose The MidiJet Pro USB?
The MidiJet Pro USB extended battery life, user-selectable transmit channels, lowest latency, smaller size, longer range, and lower price make it an easy choice over competing systems. Latency is almost non-existent. In our lab tests we found the MidiJet Pro to have incredibly low latency- about 2.7 milliseconds- which is less time than it takes sound to travel three feet! This is the lowest latency we have measured in any wireless MIDI system! And the old problem of dropouts that has plagued previous and far more expensive wireless MIDI systems has been addressed as well. The MidiJet Pro USB simply WORKS- even with the immense amounts of MIDI data that a wind controller transmits!
It's So Easy
Operation could not be simpler. Just turn everything on, plug your portable MIDI instrument into the MIDI IN of the transmitter, put the transmitter in your pocket or strap it to your MIDI controller, and the MIDI data will appear at the MIDI OUT jack and USB jack on the receiver ready to connect to your sound modules, laptop, synth rack, etc.
MidiJet Pro USB and the accessories shown above are currently the ONLY Classic MidiWorks products that we sell.
"The MidiJet Pro performs SPECTACULARLY in live performance! It enables me to wirelessly send all MIDI information from my EWI controller to my Mac G5 sound sources on stage. There have been no drop outs, no noise, no MIDI inconsistencies, a huge range of distance, and virtually undetectable latency and the transmitter and receiver are tiny! I love the MidiJet Pro. It has given me a new sense of wireless freedom on stage." - Michael Brecker, EWI Virtuoso, Sax Legend, Composer, 11 time Grammy Award winner
"I received the Midi Jet Pro several days ago. It is wonderful. Having the receiver the same size as the transmitter makes it usable in instances where using a larger receiver would not be worth the hassle. I was asked on the spur of the moment to play in a location where I was not set up. With a large receiver wireless MIDI system I would not have bothered. Since I had the MIDI Jet Pro, I simply connected it in a few seconds to my system, walked over to the new place and started playing. Everything worked great. The range seems to be very good and is at least an order of magnitude better than the M-audio wireless MIDI. Thank you." - Nyle Steiner - Inventor of the EVI and EWI, Top Studio Session Musician
"The MidiJet Pro is great." - Sam Zambito, pioneering EVI player, Programmer for Michael Brecker
"I have found the MidiJet Pro USB to be a superb product. I have been using it in my gig rig since early 2005 and it has performed beautifully. It offers several advantages over competing wireless MIDI systems AND it costs far LESS! It is extremely reliable, it has a very long range and battery life, it is small, and it is VERY FAST! I like it so much that I built it INSIDE my MIDI EVI!" - Matt Traum, EVI Performer, Wind Controller Specialist, Sound Designer
"Matt- Just a quick note of thanks. This is the BEST investment I've made in a long time! Continued success and I'll be sure to send students and colleagues to you." - Ron Blake, sax / EWI player for The Saturday Night Live Band, Roy Hargrove, Art Farmer, Christian McBride
"At the Gwen Stefani show last night, Gwen, the guitar player, and the keyboard player all left the stage at the Air Canada Centre and went up into the stands at the opposite end of the arena. MIDIjet Pro worked perfectly."
"A couple of months ago I purchased the wireless MIDI system and I cannot rave more about it. The first day I received the unit, I had it plugged into my back bedroom hooked up to a Roland AX-7 MIDI controller. I proceeded to walk through the house and finally across the street to my neighbor's yard. It still was working perfectly even going through doorways. Presently using it six nights a week in different clubs and it is flawless. Been through the crowds and even outside in a few clubs and everything works perfectly. I will be purchasing another one for my singer as soon as he gets used to his Yamaha wind controller. And no- I don't know Matt or work for Patchman music. Just want to push a product that I think is that good."
"Hey Matt! I wanted to thank you for getting the MIDIJet Pro out to me so quickly. I called on Monday morning to make sure you'd received my money order, and I was disappointed to hear you would unable to take any calls until Thursday. Then, when I came back from lunch that afternoon there was a package from you on my desk! Talk about great service! AND...I LOVE the MIDIJet Pro!"
"Got my new Midi Jet Pro USB from Patchman Music today and it is AWESOME!!!! I had the older Midi Jet Pro, which was good, but the new model is truly GREAT. I hooked it up to my MacBook, where I have the Aria player for the EWI USB... but used my WX5 and it worked great as well... The response time felt the same as when I was using a M-Audio Midi-to-USB adapter. Then ditched that and ran my WX5 straight into my rack using the new setup, but connected the MIDI port of the receiver to my rack. Again, it works great! This is one item I HIGHLY RECOMMEND as you can avoid the cables that always get in the way, if for no other reason. Again, when playing through the Midi Jet Pro USB vs. my using either the WX cable into my VL70-m or MIDI cable into my rack of synths there was NO latency issues/differences at all. The cost is not cheap but the convenience and utility will be well worth the $$."
"I just spent the last hour practicing using the new Midi Jet Pro USB and it just confirmed I made a very smart purchase! Thanks for your help in helping understand the benefits!! Regards."
"I can vouch for - well, actually against - the M-Audio MidAir system. Great idea, since it also serves as a USB MIDI interface... but, I tried to use it on two gigs - once with the WX5, and the other time as a wireless midi / interface for my AX7... it was on eBay the next day. Actually, I sent a guy - who was thinking about bidding on it and using it in a live application - your way, Matt. Some salesman I am, eh? I have a Zendrum in works and one of Chris deHaas battery merge boxes on the way, so I'll be buying a third MidiJet Pro from Matt soon enough. To date - there's nothing out there that will touch it."
"I purchased a MIDIJet Pro from Patchman Music to use with my AX7... it's been a big hit in our 80's band, and I wanted a little more freedom to move around. First off, the service I received from Patchman was excellent... they definitely exceeded my expectations, both pre-sales and in shipping the product. I also must say, the MIDIJet Pro kicks major ass! I live in out in the boondocks, and I set my rig up in my basement, had my daughter monitor my playing, and I was getting a signal from one of our barns, well over 250ft away! I had considered the Kenton MIDIStream as well, but the MJPro is considerably less expensive. The Midistream is rack-mountable, which is a plus, but I'm able to mount the MJPro inside my rack and it works just fine."
"Hi Matt. Just wanted to say I got my Midi Jet Pro today and set it up and was immediately really impressed with its performance. I was able to go down the block from my garage about 7 houses with absolutely no dropouts at all. That's a greater distance than I would ever need at a gig for me. I love how both units can operate on batteries. That lets me mount the transmitter right to the top of my top keyboard and just use a 1 foot MIDI cable to patch into the midi stream in my system. Small, light, and great performance. I also like that it supports multiple channels, something the Kenton unit cannot. That way, if I'm getting some RF interference at a gig from something at the venue, I can just swap channels and hopefully eliminate the problem. Thanks also for the really fast servicing of my order. Came in one day before I needed it. Perfect!"
"Matt, the last MIDI wireless unit I ordered promised a lot and delivered very little. I mean, not even five minutes out of the box and I realized that it was not going to work for my setup. So, needless to say, when I received the MidiJet Pro from Patchman, I was a bit leery that it would keep up to the hype. Boy, was I surprised! I'm playing an EWI4000s (You know how wind instruments put a lot of demand on a wireless system). I took this baby all the down on a different floor and could still hear it chugging along with no dropouts. I played it at my church and wandered throughout the room with the same results. I truly feel free and confident in my now new toy. You guys sold me a great chip with the VL-Turbo upgrade, and now you follow it up with a great wireless system. Delivery was a whole day ahead of schedule, so I'm just in my world. Thank you so much for your product and your service."
"Matt, Just a note to confirm what I imagine you have heard many times. The MidiJet worked out. I didn't have time to test it prior to the gig so I was a little nervous. But with quick connection I was playing my WX5 and able to walk the room to get a very accurate sound check. Thanks for another great product and super service!"
"Hey Matt, my MidiJet Pro arrived today- a day earlier than FedEx said it would. Now all I have to do is wait for my new Zendrum and I'm all set to 'Go out and play!' Thanks for your quick, professional and friendly service. When other musicians start asking me about this new wireless wonder, I will send 'em your way."
"I can't WAIT til next weekend to try it out on stage. Great product, great price, great service! Thanks much for everything!"
"Matt, I am very happy with this unit and there was absolutely NO SETUP! I was able to use this at a gig this Saturday with my Roland AX-1. As my wife put it, I was like a dog running around without a leash! There were no problems nor interference issues and the range was, well, went as far as I could and no dropout. The MidiJet Pro has expanded my musical expressions to an unlimited horizon! I will recommend to all my other Keytar friends."
"Matt, I wanted to give you some feedback on the Midijet now that I have used it on the job several times. It works great! It is just what I envisioned - no more midi wire to trip over. I have only ventured about 20-25 feet so far, but have experienced no lost notes. I am still on the first set of batteries in the transmitter (I try to turn it off on breaks) after 4 performances. I am very satisfied."
"I can't stress how much this has changed my playing experience. I'm FREE!!!!!! Thinking back on all the little moments I wasted trying to get that WX cable situated, trying NOT to run over it with my chair or tangling it with my headphone cable or dragging my mouse off into the floor with it, tripping over it, etc., etc... Man, I LOVE my MidiJet Pro!!!!!!!!"
"I just got the Midi Jet Pro from Patchman. Wow! It works great. Can't believe I lived this long without it!"
"I just got mine the other day from Matt. I used it on a gig Saturday and it works perfectly! A must have! Go to the Patchman web site and check out the specs! Peace."
"GOOD JOB!!! Thank you, I just received my MidiJet Pro. I tested it and it works !!! Since over 15 years I was waiting for such a product. - Good stuff and not incredibly expensive- I'm so happy, thank you."
Patchman Music now offers a custom mod for the MIDI EVI to turn your MIDI EVI into an self-contained wireless MIDI wind controller! That's right, we can install a MidiJet Pro USB transmitter INSIDE the body of the Steiner MIDI EVI turning your MIDI EVI into the world's first truly self-contained wireless MIDI wind controller.
The MidiJet Pro USB transmitter board installs in the area where the 9v battery normally is. The 9v battery is moved outside the body of the MIDI EVI into the canister area. The battery clips to the body of the EVI and points down inside the canister. This actually makes changing the battery EASIER since you no longer have to disassemble the EVI to get to it. Also, the antenna is inside the body so there is no sign of the added wireless capabilities from the outside!
The entire instrument is powered from a single 9 volt battery, one single power switch, and no extra wires. Of course battery life will be less than it was when the battery was powering just the MIDI EVI, but battery life has never been an issue with the MIDI EVI anyway. You can expect at least two 4 hour gigs from a battery (turning it off on breaks). The time is actually more- we just haven't had a chance to accurately measure this yet.
Sorry, this mod is not available at this time
This includes all hardware costs (including a new MidiJet Pro USB system) and labor. You provide the MIDI EVI of course. You would then have a MIDI EVI with the transmitter built in and one receiver unit with AC adaptor and manual. More info in our wind controller mods and repairs is here. Please call if you would like to discuss having this done to your MIDI EVI.
