The new ASM DIOSYNTH is a highly expressive instrument that combines a deep synthesis engine with a sample playback engine, offering the best of acoustic and electronic sounds. Designed with wind players in mind, Diosynth features mechanical keys that replicate the feel of real sax and wind instruments- avoiding the flat button-style controls found on other wind synths. Multiple fingering modes, scale/key locking, and octave keys covering over eight octaves provide a familiar and versatile playing experience.

In addition to Sax, Flute, & Recorder fingerings, the ASM DIOSYNTH also includes the special Trumpet / EVI Fingering Mode originally designed for other wind controllers by Patchman Music's own Matt Traum. This allows trumpet, EVI, and other brass players to play the DIOSYNTH with relative ease. So woodwind and brass players can all play the SAME INSTRUMENT simply by selecting the appropriate fingering system! For expression, Diosynth includes breath and bite sensors, an internal gyro, X/Y joystick, two pressure pads, and three programmable switches. It ships with 384 patches and supports a total of 768 patch locations, covering everything from traditional wind instruments such as saxophones, trumpets, and flutes to synth leads, basses, and tempo-synced, layered synth textures.

The sound engine is based on Ashun Sound Machine's renowned Hydrasynth with the addition of a new sample playback oscillator, giving Diosynth endless possibilities for sound creation and design. The Diosynth synth engine includes two WaveScan oscillators with 219 waveforms, 16 Hydrasynth filter models, including vowel filter, Noise generator with ASM Hydrasynth morphing filter, 32-slot modulation matrix, 5 LFOs with step sequencer modes, 5 Envelopes with looping modes, 'Growl effect': Ringmod with 3rd Oscillator, and more!

Sample Instruments: 128 instrument samples include Flutes from Piccolo down to Contrabass Flute, Saxes from Soprano down to Eb Tubax, Clarinets from Eb soprano down to Contralto, Double reeds, Oboe down to Contrabassoon, Ethnic Flutes and Whistles, Trumpets, Trombones, French Horns and Tubas with mute variations and sections, Violins, Cello, Bass, Ensembles, Harmonicas, Accordions, and more! ASM has meticulously sampled 128 unique reed, brass, fipple, and string-based sounds. Rare and exotic instruments are included like the contrabass Flute, Eb Tubax, and Peruvian llama whistle!

Users can blend realistic acoustic instruments- like a Harmon-muted trumpet or Peruvian bamboo flute- with Hydrasynth's wavescan oscillators and process them through the 16-mode filter to create rich hybrid tones. Having one sound like this would be amazing enough but you can layer or split two distinct parts, combining up to four Hydrasynth oscillators and two sample-based voices simultaneously.

Software Sound Editor: A Mac/PC Patch Editor/Patch Manager app allows you to edit your sounds and create sound banks, download new sound banks as they are released, create your own samples and upload them. As well, an iOS/Android Set List Manager makes recalling patches easy and visual for live performers.
