	MIDI Solutions Breath Controller Interface Box The MIDI Solutions Breath Controller Interface Box is a breath to MIDI converter for use with the Yamaha BC3A Breath Controller. The Breath Controller accepts the Yamaha BC3A as input and generates continuous MIDI data corresponding to the amount of breath pressure applied to it. The Breath Controller Box will also accept older Yamaha BC1 and BC2 units. The Breath Controller can be programmed to send Aftertouch, Pitchbend, Control Change, System Exclusive. The Breath Controller has a MIDI Echo parameter that is selectable on/off. By default, it sends MIDI Volume data (CC#7) on MIDI channel 1 in response to your breath pressure, with the Echo parameter set to ON. This can all be changed by programming it with sysex messages. If you need to map, filter, and process MIDI events in specific ways, the MIDI Solutions Event Processor may be exactly the solution you are looking for. The Event Processor offers 10 settings, each of which can be programmed with a unique MIDI processing function (for 32 settings see the Event Processor Plus). By combining these settings the Event Processor becomes an extremely powerful tool capable of processing MIDI events in almost any way imaginable. 	MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller The Pedal Controller accepts an expression pedal (such as the Yamaha FC7 or Roland EV-5 or any potentiometer connected to a 1/4" stereo phone plug) as an input and generates continuous MIDI data based on its position. The Pedal Controller may be inserted inline at any point in the MIDI data stream allowing you to send continuous controller information to any device in your MIDI setup. The Pedal Controller can be programmed to send Aftertouch, Pitch Bend, Control Change, or System Exclusive. The Pedal Controller has a MIDI Echo parameter that is selectable on / off. TURBO VL Users: You can program this pedal to send MIDI continuous controller #4 so that the pedal will introduce growl into most of the wind instrument sounds on the TURBO VL! We can pre-program the pedal for this MIDI controller- just ask us when ordering. The Pedal Controller accurately tracks the position of the pedal or potentiometer connected to it. Small fluctuations are eliminated when the pedal is in a stationary position and no extraneous messages are sent out. When the pedal is moved slightly, the Pedal Controller will send an update even if its position has only changed by a single value. Many control wheels or knobs only update themselves every two or every four values resulting in coarser control and sometimes zipper noise. 	MIDI Solutions Router The MIDI Solutions Router is a 1-in 2-out MIDI data router / filter. Selected MIDI messages can be routed to either, both, or neither of the Router's two MIDI outputs. The Router can route/filter selected ranges of most MIDI data types (see examples here). Messages can also be rechannelized to any other MIDI channel. (for on-the-fly rechannelizing, see the MIDI Solutions Footswitch Controller). Attention EWI3000m, EWI3020m, EWI3030m, MIDI EVI owners using the TURBO VL70-m: If you need to block MIDI controller #65 data (Portamento Switch) - this pedal can be programmed to do that! We can pre-program the Router for this function- just ask us when ordering. Attention EWI4000m Users: The EWI4000s always sends MIDI Program Change messages. There currently is no way to turn off transmission of this data. The MIDI Solutions Router can easily be set up to block MIDI Program Change messages. We can pre-program the Router for this function- just ask us when ordering. This is one of my biggest gripes with the EWI4000s. If this bothers you, email Akai and tell them you want a global parameter to toggle this on and off in a future OS update. The Router will accept a total of 10 settings. Settings are stored in a priority format - if two settings conflict the higher priority setting takes precedence. The Router is programmed by sending it MIDI System Exclusive messages. This can be done easily with the Processors Programming Tools software available for free from the Midi Solutions website. Once programmed, its settings are retained even after power is removed. 	MIDI Solutions Merger The MIDI Solutions Merger is a 2-in 1-out MIDI Merger. All MIDI messages appearing at the two inputs are merged to the output (including System Exclusive, MIDI Clock, and MIDI Time Code messages). A fast merging algorithm ensures that all MIDI data is processed accurately with the minimal possible delay. The Merger is MIDI-powered, and requires no batteries or power supply to operate with most MIDI products (see FAQs - Power and FAQs - LED for more information). 	MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru The MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru is a 1-in 4-out MIDI Thru Box. All MIDI messages appearing at the input are sent to all four Thru outputs. Active circuitry cleans up any skewing of MIDI data bits that has occurred at the input, ensuring reliable operation in setups that require daisy chaining or long cable runs. Wind controller players can use this to split the MIDI signal coming from the wind controller and send it to up to four modules with the absolute minimum latency! This is a better solution than chaining your modules one after the other. This box adds essentially zero latency (it is less than 0.00002 seconds!) 	MIDI Solutions Footswitch Controller The MIDI Solutions Footswitch Controller provides a 1/4" phone jack input for connection to a footswitch or contact closure which can be used to trigger MIDI events (for 8 footswitch inputs in a single rack space unit, MIDI Solutions makes the F8 model). Triggered MIDI events are merged with incoming MIDI messages and sent to the MIDI output of the Footswitch Controller. This unit is GREAT for TRANSPOSING on the fly with your wind controller! We can pre-program this unit to do this function if you wish. Just ask for this when ordering. Triggered event types are programmable and include Note, Control Change, Pitch Bend, Program Change, Start/Stop, System Exclusive. Other functions include Program Change INC/DEC, Rechannelize, Transpose, Tap Tempo, Note-on Filter. MIDI Echo and Footswitch Toggle parameters are selectable on/off. 	MIDI Solutions Power Adapter The Power Adapter provides power to operate MIDI Solutions products in instances when it is not available or where a large number of MIDI Solutions products are being chained in series (see FAQs - LED for a list of products that would require this unit). This unit is needed when using any of the Midi Solutions products with the Yamaha WX7, EZ-TP and others. The Power Adapter has an optically isolated MIDI In, a MIDI Thru, and a power connection for a 9VAC wall adapter (wall adapter IS included). It's possible to power up to 20 MIDI Solutions products from the Power Adapter's single Thru output. The Power Adapter can also be used in a transmitter/receiver configuration to send MIDI over long distances. It has been tested to operate over a 4000 foot range using average 2-conductor audio cable, however individual results will vary. Since MIDI inputs from various manufacturers are designed differently, in some cases two Power Adapters may be required- one at the transmitting end and another at the receiving end. If you live outside the USA and wish to order a MIDI Solutions product, you will need to have someone in the USA order AND PAY FOR the gear for you (credit cards/checks must be based in the USA). If this is not possible, then please contact a MIDI Solutions dealer in your country. Of course, as always, all Patchman Music soundbanks and software CAN be shipped overseas.
