The MidiJet Pro Wireless MIDI system is an incredible piece of gear. The engineers at Classic MidiWorks have done a superb job of creating a reliable, small, and inexpensive wireless MIDI system. The MidiJet Pro cost far less and performs far better than systems that cost upwards of $3000 just a few years ago. Now wind controller players with battery powered controllers such as the Akai EWI4000s, Yamaha WX5, WX7/BT7, WX11/BT7, MIDI EVI, Synthophone, and Casio DH-100 / DH-200 are free to roam the stage no longer tied down by MIDI cables! Strap-on MIDI keyboardists using portable remote keyboards such as the Roland AX-1, AX-7, or Yamaha KX5 can now be free of tangles and constricting MIDI cables. Electronic drum players using the Zendrum and MIDI accordionists are now free to roam out into the crowd. The MidiJet Pro can also be used with various MIDI control surfaces and player pianos with MIDI capability such as Yamaha's Disklavier and others with the PianoDisc system. Another great application for the MidiJet Pro is to link a front-of-house (FOH) MIDI sound or lighting desk to on-stage equipment. Imagine the freedom of being wireless.
Probably the ultimate test for any wireless MIDI system is a MIDI wind controller since these controllers generate huge amounts of MIDI continuous controller data. Music now offers a custom mod for the MIDI EVI to turn your MIDI
EVI into an self-contained wireless MIDI wind controller! That's
right, we can install a MidiJet Pro transmitter INSIDE the body
of the Steiner MIDI EVI turning your MIDI EVI into the world's
first truly self-contained wireless MIDI wind controller.
The MidiJet Pro transmitter board installs in the area where the 9v battery normally is. The 9v battery is moved outside the body of the MIDI EVI into the canister area. The battery clips to the body of the EVI and points down inside the canister. This actually makes changing the battery EASIER since you no longer have to disassemble the EVI to get to it. Also, the antenna is inside the body so there is no sign of the added wireless capabilities from the outside!
The entire instrument is powered from a single 9 volt battery, one single power switch, and no extra wires. Of course battery life will be less than it was when the battery was powering just the MIDI EVI, but battery life has never been an issue with the MIDI EVI anyway. You can expect at least two 4 hour gigs from a battery (turning it off on breaks). The time is actually more- we just haven't had a chance to accurately measure this yet. (Note that the EVI shown above has been modded to have four blue LEDS inside along with a clear band around the horn for an inner glow. These LEDs use significantly more current than just a MIDI EVI and MidiJet would. This LED mod is currently not offered.)

"I purchased a MIDIJet Pro from Patchman Music to use with my AX7... it's been a big hit in our 80's band, and I wanted a little more freedom to move around. First off, the service I received from Patchman was excellent... they definitely exceeded my expectations, both pre-sales and in shipping the product. I also must say, the MIDIJet Pro kicks major ass! I live in out in the boondocks, and I set my rig up in my basement, had my daughter monitor my playing, and I was getting a signal from one of our barns, well over 250ft away! I had considered the Kenton MIDIStream as well, but the MJPro is considerably less expensive. The Midistream is rack-mountable, which is a plus, but I'm able to mount the MJPro inside my rack and it works just fine."
