Professionally reconditioned Sax style MIDI wind controller. Casio has made an electronic saxophone that is so easy to play you won't believe it. The DH-100 has the unique claim to be the only SELF-CONTAINED wind controller. Unlike other wind controllers, the DH-100 can be powered via batteries, has a built-in sound generator, amplifier, and speaker, so you can play it in a parade or on the beach! It features built-in sounds as well as a MIDI OUT jack which allows you to expressively control MIDI synths. It also has a built-in synth featuring SIX sounds: saxophone, trumpet, synth-reed, oboe, clarinet, and flute. There is a built-in speaker with volume control. There are switches to select the sound, transpose (2 octaves), and a Breath switch which allows you to play the horn without needing to blow into it if desired. There are also connections for headphones, MIDI OUT, and an AC adaptor (AC adaptor not included). The DH-100 also runs on five "AA" batteries making wireless a possibility using a standard wireless guitar system. There is a power-on LED indicator. It was recently professionally serviced, reconditioned, calibrated, cleaned, and tested by wind controller expert Matt Traum here at Patchman Music (www.patchmanmusic.com/dh100.html) with an upgrade to prevent squealing (a common problem with these horns if not upgraded)- a $140 value included with this horn! The DH-100 is a very expressive MIDI controller. It transmits MIDI aftertouch data in response to your breath. It transmits variable velocity in response to how hard you attack a note. It transmits MIDI program changes 0 through 5 when you select the various tones with the tone button. It also transmits MIDI Portamento Switch (CC#65) data when you press the Portamento key. We have available this extremely rare CASIO DH-500 fully updated electronically here at Patchman Music. This model DH horn was never released in the USA and is extremely rare and collectable. It was probably only available in Japan- and for only a short amount of time. This model Casio DH horn is more of a pro-level type instrument with more keys, better sounds, built-in reverb, and an overall better feel than the other cheaper models. With that in mind and the fact it retains the built-in speaker and battery power along with decent MIDI capabilities makes it a very unique wind controller. This horn has 100% been gone over in the shop here at Patchman Music by Matt Traum in our Patchman Music wind controller shop and it works great! This horn has had a major circuit upgrade to the electronics done here at Patchman Music by wind controller guru/tech Matt Traum which is a $325 shop repair included in the price! (www.patchmanmusic.com/dh100.html). The Casio DH-500 is the top of the line Casio DH horn. It is the best model they ever made by far. Compared to the other Casio DH models, the DH-500 features more keys so fingering is a bit more versatile. Upgraded features compared to the DH-100/200 are: 11 keys (instead of 9- the DH-500 has an added Eb key on the right hand and a B key on the left hand), 2 octave keys (there is an octave up key AND an octave down key so it has an extended range- all the other Casio DH models have just one octave key), much more positive keywork/action (the feel of the keys is "tighter and more solid"), user-adjustable breath-sensitivity and pitch fine-tuning, a vibrato on/off switch, digital reverb built-in, a knob for setting the Reverb effect, a slide switch to select the sound, transpose up and transpose down buttons with an LED bargraph visual indicator of the selected transpose setting. Also the 6 built-in sounds seem to be of a higher quality compared to the Casio DH-100 and DH-200. The DH-500 is a very expressive MIDI controller. It transmits MIDI aftertouch data in response to your breath. It transmits variable velocity in response to how hard you attack a note. It transmits program changes 0 through 5 when you select the various tones with the tone button. It also transmits Portamento Switch (CC#65) when you press the Portamento key. This is a great way to get into the wonderful world of wind controllers. The horn has been cleaned, fully checked out by us at Patchman Music, and is in 100% working condition. Here are two ORIGINAL books in used condition for the Casio DH-100 and DH-200. Included are two books- "Casio Digital Horn Instruction Book" and "Casio Digital Horn Songbook". These beginner's books are extremely rare and not available anywhere else. They were written specifically for the Casio DH Midi Horn and published by Hal Leonard in the late 1980s. They are in very good condition with no writing or tears in them. "Casio Digital Horn Instruction Book- A Step-by-Step Beginner's Approach to Playing the Digital Horn" is 32 pages and includes an introduction to the Casio DH, info on how to power the DH and play it, each of the notes of the scale with fingering, and several explanations on basic music theory and notation, fingering charts, tips on using the Casio DH etc... There are 13 short musical examples in this book including "Au Clair De La Lune", "Carnival Of Venice", "Shenandoah, "When The Saints Go Marching In", "Old MacDonald", etc... "The Casio Digital Horn Songbook- Easy-to Play Arrangements of Today's Hit Songs For Great Playing Fun!" is 32 pages and includes 7 songs in large note format. Songs include "All I Need Is A Miracle", "Maniac", "Flashdance", "We Built This City", "Everytime You Go Away", " Just The Way You Are", and "Sad Songs".
