Korg iM1 Soundbanks (for iPad and iPhone!)Now available for the iPhone as well as the iPad!If you are looking for sounds for the PC / Mac M1 Legacy Softsynth, click hereOnline MP3 Demos Available! (See Below)Patchman Music is proud to announce the release of TWO new very special wind controller / breath controller soundbanks for the Korg iM1 iPad / iPhone softsynth. These new soundbanks were expertly programmed by professional wind controller player / sound designer Matt Traum. These two soundbanks were designed specifically to be controlled with a wind controller or breath controller. Each soundbank contains 100 Programs and 100 Combis for a combined total of 400 new wind controller sounds. Each soundbank features a wide variety of sounds- from beautifully expressive individual solo instruments to massive chorded layers like those made popular by Michael Brecker. These sounds REQUIRE a wind controller or breath controller for proper use. These sounds load into, and require, the Korg iM1 app on the iPad / iPhone.
VOLUME 1 (Wind Controller) for the Korg iM1 iPad / iPhone AppWind Controller #1 - A special soundbank of 100 Programs and 100 Combinations for the Korg iM1 iOS Softsynth App specifically designed by wind controller expert Matt Traum to be controlled with a wind controller such as the Yamaha WX5, WX7, WX11,WindJamm'r, Akai EWI, EWI SOLO, EWI5000, EWI4000s, EVI, MIDI EVI, MDT, NuEVI, NuRAD, Aodyo Sylphyo, Roland Aerophone, or Softwind Synthophone. These highly expressive sounds are also fantastic for keyboardists when used with a breath controller such as the Yamaha BC1, BC2, or BC3a, TEControl Breath Controllers, MRT Audio Breath Controller, Kelfar BCK-1 Breath Controller, etc... These sounds require a wind controller or breath controller capable of sending AFTERTOUCH data for proper use. WX5 / WX11 / WindJamm'r users and Yamaha breath controller users can use an inexpensive iPad / iPad app such as Midiflow or FreEWI (or the legacy MidiBridge) to map breath controller data to channel/mono aftertouch data on the iPad / iPhone. Patchman Music also offers a hardware MIDI mapper box that can be custom programmed to convert breath controller data into channel/mono aftertouch data. Email Matt for details. Casio DH-100 / DH-200 OWNERS! Since these sounds are
set up to respond fully to aftertouch data, they work GREAT when controlled with
the Casio DH Series horns such as the DH-100 and DH-200. $70 (USD). Email Delivery Only. Save! Order both Volumes now for only $99 (USD)!... Formats: This soundbank is available for the iM1 Soft Synth as .syx Sysex files. (If you order both Volumes at the same time we will send you a single .m1all file that contains both Volumes). "I really like the Korg M1 Legacy softsynth on the Mac with Patchman's Korg M1 Legacy soundbanks and I just found the Korg iM1 for iPad. It is the best softsynth I've tried for the iPad. Korg provides interoperability with the KORG Legacy Collection and Patchman's Korg iM1 Softsynth Soundbanks work 'out-of-the-box' with the iM1. I connected my old iPad2 to my iRigMidi. Works flawlessly with my EWI4000s. This setup is very responsive. It responds like a hardware synth." "Well, I'm very excited about this. As of this evening, I now have the iM1 app on my iPad Mini 3, hooked up via a Roland Duo-Capture EX, and I'm honking away on Matt's patches using the EWI! Works really well. A small (battery powered, if you wish) gig-able rig. Sounds are really good, and responsive." "In my opinion, [with] the iM1 sounds on an iOS device, you won't find anything better as far as good all-round wind controller patches. The Thor soundbank has some excellent synths but that's its forte: synths, not emulations. If you'd like to move to a portable iOS-based gig rig, go for the iM1 bank. If I were to be doing a gig that only required wind controller and a range of general (not speciality) sounds, I'd be quite happy to use my iPad and iM1. My recommendation would be to spring for the iM1 synth and Patchman soundbank if you're interested in moving to an ultra-portable wind controller solution." "Matt, I'm sure you've heard this more that once, these soundbanks are awesome. I'm looking forward to exploring all 400 Programs/Combis. The patches I heard on your demo were enough to convince me. A friend of mine, keyboard player/composer, advised me to get the iM1 for Gadget on my iPad. I was already enjoying the great sounds available for it. Your patches make it an amazing app. Thanks again for your outstanding wind controller programming and great customer service." "I haven't been impressed with any of the EWI/iPad offerings until now but the iM1 could be a major turning point... Matt's iM1 banks are quite good. I wish Roland would do a softsynth port of their JV range!" "This is the first iPad music app I've been pleased with." "Well, my iOS interface finally arrived and I was able to take iM1 for a drive with my WX5 (using the MIDIFlow app in the background to remap CC02 to Channel Pressure/Aftertouch). I was pretty impressed with iM1 as a very portable sound source for my WX5. The latency was virtually unnoticeable." "Matt, like so many others, I want to thank you for these great patches that I am just beginning to explore. The guys in our little band were impressed (so was I) with the 'Low Strings' patch as we worked on a song by Adele with one of the members' daughter, who has an amazing voice. I am looking forward to more exploration." "Finally had some time to revisit. I bought the app (it's half price at the moment) and then the [Patchman Music] soundbanks. The directions were crystal clear and installation was a breeze. Looked up aftertouch in the manual and set the EWI right. Many nice sounds available!" "I installed with Matt's patches and love it! Finally, nice sounding responsive wind controller library running smooth on iPad. Alto Sax 2 is my favorite patch and as an alto sax player I usually don't enjoy synth sax patches." "I haven't noticed any crackling or unwanted sound effects. I've found the volume and note transitions to be extremely smooth. I've tested with an iPad2 (iOS 8.2) and iPad3 (iOS 8.3) connecting the EWI 4000S to both an iRig midi or iRig Pro. There is a latency setting (faster, standard, safer) in the iM1 app. I'm using the Faster setting with no problems on both iPad2 and iPad3. I've also tested the iM1 audiobus compatibility by piping the iM1 output to the Remaster equalizer/preamp/compressor app. These apps are in the background with the forScore app in the foreground. Again, no problems with smoothness." "I'm really enjoying the new-found freedoms available to me with your wind controller patches for my EWV2000, M1, and Matrix-1000. Playing them is causing me to realize how hard it's been to control and be lyrical with the sounds I've used in the past." "I bought both volumes today and they're great! Thanks heaps for your efforts with these, Matt." "I have KM1DLE myself and it is a firm favorite with me - bang per buck it is giving me great results. On Volume 1 I think Tenor Sax, Dbl Reed, Flute, Pan Flute, and Trumpet are a good place to start. On Volume 2 I like Clarinet2, Alto Sax2, Pan Flute, Flute, and Hard Flute - all these have noise giving a breathy sound. Clarinet2... I think it gives me a better sound that any of the many Garritan clarinet patches that I have. I don't get bored with the sounds even when I play them for an extended period." "Hi Matt. The M1 Legacy soundbanks are great. I am totally excited playing them for the first time. The response to dynamics, vibrato, articulation is phantasmic. The process of importing them into the soft synth is very easy. The nomenclature is easy and really well-chosen (for example Lyle really sounds like Lyle)." "I have both Matt's soundbanks and I strongly recommend them. Easy to use and great sounds." "Matt, Thank you (again) for your very helpful advice. The M1 soft synth with your soundbanks sounds terrific and permits real expression, even using the Casio DH, which is not much more than an expensive toy in the grand scheme of wind controllers. I am happy to report that my 7 year old daughter is now inspired to pick up the wind controller on the basis of what it can now do. I will upgrade to the Akai 4000s (leaving the Casio to my daughter). Look for an order [for the EWI4000s Pro Pack] in the coming weeks. Regards from a very happy customer." "I have Matt's two [M1 Legacy wind controller] banks of patches and I have assembled my favorites into my own custom bank where I can tweak them a little if I want to. I play the M1 patches more than any others, in my opinion they surpass the Garritan ones by a significant margin and I can play one patch for hours without tiring of it." "Dear Matt, I just today purchased your Korg Legacy M1 EWI patches... thank you so much for your great programming and quick email delivery! The sounds are AWESOME! BTW: I also have your Matrix-1000 and Alesis S4+ sounds... awesome as well... I just needed soft-synth versions because it was easier to use chord rotator and chord memory functions on my Mac laptop and Logic environments." "I just wanted to let you know that I finally got around to downloading your M1 patches. I kind of just bought these on a whim. So I wasn't really expecting much. You are to be congratulated. I was shocked and amazed with the quality of your work. These are most cool and amazing. I sat around and noodled with them all day yesterday."
