This soundbank loads into the Roland Cloud XV-5080 Software Synthesizer ONLY!! In order to use these sounds, you must own and have installed on your computer the Roland XV-5080 soft synth which is available from Roland via the Roland Cloud.
This soundbank requires a wind controller or breath controller for proper use. It is also possible to assign a wheel, knob, or foot pedal to send MIDI CC#2 to enjoy these expressive sounds.
This soundbank does NOT load inside a hardware Roland XV synth.
This soundbank does NOT load inside a wind controller.

VOLUME 1: Wind Controller Essentials

Volume 1, Wind Controller Essentials, for the Roland Cloud XV-5080 Software Synthesizer contains a full bank of 128 all-new and amazing Patches specially designed to be used with (and requires) a MIDI wind controller or breath controller. This soundbank works superbly when controlled with a wind controller such as the Yamaha WX5, WX7, WX11, WindJamm'r, Nyle Steiner MIDI EVI / EWI, Akai EWI, EVI, EWI1000 / EVI1000, EWI5000, EWI4000s, EWI SOLO, ASM Diosynth, Roland Aerophone, Robkoo Clarii mini and Clarii Pro, Greaten, MDT, the Berglund NuEVI /NuRAD, Aodyo Sylphyo, Lekholm DM48, Softwind Synthophone, WARBL, and others.

Keyboardists can also enjoy these highly expressive sounds when used with a breath controller such as the Yamaha BC1, BC2, or BC3 or TEControl breath controller series.

This soundbank contains 128 of the most expressive sounds available for the XV Cloud Softsynth, programmed by professional wind controller player / sound designer Matt Traum. These new sounds were specifically programmed for the XV-5080 Cloud Softsynth to take advantage of the new XV features (they were not simply taken from our JV sounds). We have included a huge variety of realistic woodwinds, brass, orchestral layers, synth leads, and huge chorded layers! Plus highly expressive orchestral flutes, breathy exotic flutes, clarinets including contrabass clarinet, a full compliment of saxes, trumpets, trombones, orchestral brass layers, harmonicas, solo and ensemble strings, Brecker-style chorded leads, Tower of Power style brass layers, fat analog synth leads, plus an amazing bagpipe patch complete with drones! These sounds require MIDI continuous controller #2 (breath controller) in order to make any sound. If you do not have a wind controller or breath controller you will need to assign a knob, slider, or pedal to send MIDI CC#2 to use these sounds.

"Hi Matt, The Roland XV sounds are AWESOME! Within 10 seconds I was off and running. What's remarkable is that the 'feel' of the EWI is different depending on which sound you are using. I'm sure there's a technical explanation for this, but for example, the tuba literally 'felt' like I was blowing through a larger horn compared to the flute. So it isn't, as one might guess, just blowing through the EWI and 'switching' what comes out the speaker. It's way, way more than that. Also, the sounds are remarkably, stunningly realistic. For example, the acoustic guitar sounds, to my ears, exactly like an acoustic guitar. Ditto for most of the others. In short, blows me away. I will post comments on your website. This is incredible."

"I just wanted to confirm the fact that Matt's patches do sound great and combined with the VL70-m, I am able to get some unbelievable sound combinations. One of my favorite combos is Maynard (VL70-m) and any of the brass section sounds on the XV but most particularly Brass #9, or any of the Tower of Power horn sounds. You just turn Maynard up a little bit louder than the brass section, set him up an octave on the VL-70m, and go for it!! I have had a blast with this thing the last few days!"
