EWI Virtuoso Jeff Kashiwa (The Rippingtons) Comments..."I've played around with the sounds and they are great! They have a wonderfully responsive envelope which allows full expression through timbre changes. Even though they are electronically generated they still have an organic 'real' feel. They put the Wind back in EWI! I am very much enjoying the sounds. It's like getting a new instrument. I recommend visiting patchmanmusic.com for the best EWI sounds. Thanks Matt!" - Jeff Kashiwa, Sax and EWI virtuoso with The Rippingtons and solo recording artist. |

Customer Comments (re: hardware version of this bank)...
"I've played around with the sounds and they are great! They have a wonderfully responsive envelope which allows full expression through timbre changes. Even though they are electronically generated they still have an organic 'real' feel. They put the Wind back in EWI! Thanks Matt!" - Jeff Kashiwa, Sax and EWI virtuoso with The Rippingtons and solo recording artist.
"Hi Matt, thanks a million for the Soundbank. These patches really bring the XV to life! I really, really love the Sax patches with the Yamaha WX5... and getting it up and running couldn't be easier. Pay, get an email right back, load the soundbank and you're away. I'm very impressed."
"Matt, you outdid yourself with this sound bank. I took my XV out of storage when I heard some of your sound clips on your website and I have to say there are single patches that I would have paid your asking price for and I'm getting many usable sounds included in this sound bank. Installation was quick and very easy to do. Once again you've proven you are the go to guy for anything EWI. All I have to do now is figure out how to add unit this to my live rig!"
"Just installed your patches... WOW! I had always thought that the only way to enjoy the immediacy of response from the EWI was by using the on board synth. Whenever I triggered another MIDI device I always experienced the lagging 'notes catching up' effect. Now I realize that a properly programmed patch on an external piece of gear responds nearly as well as the on board synth. And oh yeah, the sounds are great! Thanks Matt!"
"I loaded the file last night into my XV and played it with a WX5 wind controller. Pretty darn awesome!! Thanks."
"Hi Matt, The Roland XV sounds are AWESOME! Within 10 seconds I was off and running. What's remarkable is that the 'feel' of the EWI is different depending on which sound you are using. I'm sure there's a technical explanation for this, but for example, the tuba literally 'felt' like I was blowing through a larger horn compared to the flute. So it isn't, as one might guess, just blowing through the EWI and 'switching' what comes out the speaker. It's way, way more than that. Also, the sounds are remarkably, stunningly realistic. For example, the acoustic guitar sounds, to my ears, exactly like an acoustic guitar. Ditto for most of the others. In short, blows me away. I will post comments on your website. This is incredible."
"Hi Matt, Just a quick note to let you know that the patches sound fantastic!!! I love the Brecker stuff. Thanks so much!!"
"I just wanted to confirm the fact that Matt's patches do sound great and combined with the VL70-m, I am able to get some unbelievable sound combinations. One of my favorite combos is Maynard (VL70-m) and any of the brass section sounds on the XV but most particularly Brass #9, or any of the Tower of Power horn sounds. You just turn Maynard up a little bit louder than the brass section, set him up an octave on the VL-70m, and go for it!! I have had a blast with this thing the last few days!"
"Dear Matt, I've installed the patches and it works perfectly! This is such a great feeling to play with, like I'd have a new instrument in my mouth... Thank you very much for such a good job! Thank you very much and all the best to you and your team!"
