Replace the mediocre quality Akai EWI3020m presets (patches 51-00) with professional quality wind controller sounds from PATCHMAN MUSIC- the leading authority in breath controlled sound design. PATCHMAN MUSIC now offers two soundbanks for the Akai EWI3020m analog synth module. Each soundbank contains 50 all-new Pro Patches programmed by Matt Traum- experienced wind synthesist and sound designer- optimized to be played with the Akai EWI3020m wind controller. These sounds can also be used when controlling the EWI3020m directly with a wind controller or with a breath controller via the MIDI IN jack. These sounds require a wind controller or breath controller for proper use.

These EWI3020-m soundbanks were designed with the philosophy that they should be useful to a wind instrument player. You won't find any pianos, organs, or drums in these Volumes. You will find lots of super expressive solo sounds, classic analog timbres, emulative acoustic wind instrument patches, fat synth leads, and punchy synth basses. Many hours were devoted to tweaking these soundbanks to perfection. The result? Two all-new professional soundbanks far superior to the EWI3020m presets. Every parameter in every patch has been evaluated to make these patches as realistic and expressive as possible. You have invested in the Akai EWI3020m now load in some professional quality sounds.

These highly responsive sounds have been carefully programmed to fully utilize all of the EWI's sensors to allow you to shape your sound in super expressive ways. For example, the Glide sensor is not only used to control glide but is often used to radically change the timbre of the sound. These responsive sounds will help you express yourself to your full potential.

PATCHMAN MUSIC EWI3020m VOLUME 1

Volume 1 for the Akai EWI3020m contains 50 breath controlled patches designed to be played with the Akai EWI3020 wind controller. EWI3020m Volume 1 includes acoustic string instrument emulations, acoustic brass instrument emulations, synth leads, synth basses, and much more. The acoustic patches in Volume 1 include Jean Luc, Violin, Viola, Cello, Violett, High String, Piccolo Trumpet, Trumpet, Tuba/Trombone, Brass Section, and Harmonica. We have also included many of the classic synth sounds including the 'trademark' sounds of Lyle Mays, The Cars, Keith Emerson, Jean Luc Ponty, and others. And we haven't forgotten the great low end capabilities of the EWI3020m. We've included some super punchy, hard-to-find MiniMoog-style bass patches. Because of the EWI3020m's great low end, you will find that many of the other sounds in this soundbank make great basses as well.

EWI3020m Volume 2 includes acoustic woodwind instrument emulations, synth leads, synth basses, and much more. The woodwinds include Flute, Soft Flute, Wood Flute, Recorder, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Oboe, English Horn, Bassoon, Baroque, Bach Reed, Soprano Sax, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, and Bari Sax. We have included many of the classic synth sounds including the 'trademark' sounds of Chick Corea, Steve Winwood, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and others. Volume 2 also includes some outstanding synth basses. Because of the EWI3020m's great low end, you will find that many of the other sounds in this soundbank make great basses as well.

"The synth itself _I thought_ was horrible, until I bought the Patchman patches... suddenly it's wow. Matt includes instructions on how to build a library out of the two volumes... however, the trick is working out which sounds to get rid off. I wish I could just abandon all the presets but oh well :-) I have *no idea* how they can get the sounds they do out of the synth, but the difference with the new patches is night to day. Awesome."
